Mt Robson

Our introduction to the Rocky Mountains was at Mt Robson and what a stunning introduction it was. The first photo is the view from the park visitor centre and the next few from the river just below our camp site.

Walked along a track following the river in the morning and relaxed in the afternoon.

On our way north the next day we stopped in at a recently proclaimed park, Ancient Forest/ Chung T'oh Whudujut PP and did a fantastic short walk through a section of old growth forest. This is temperate rainforest located 800km from the coast, pretty unusual I would have thought. The dominant trees are western red cedar, some of which are over 1000 years old.
