Wells Grey Provincial Park

Wells Grey PP is 550,000ha of wilderness forest, rivers, lakes and mountains.

We camped beside Clearwater Lake. Saw 5 black bears, dozens of skwirls (squirrels to you and me) and a couple of deer. No moose yet, although the walking tracks are covered in moose dung. They obviously use the trails as much as we do. We have often wondered what we will do if we round a bend and meet a bull moose walking toward us.  Annie prefers that I lead.

It was a real thrill to see our first bears. They like to graze dandelions on the roadsides and pretty much ignore the wide-eyed tourists.

The photos really don't do the scenery justice.
